How did

Misskukie Jewellery start

Previously to setting up Misskukie I had a very different career. I had been working in recruitment for a number of years. Looking to get into something creative, a work colleague suggested a nearby Beads Shop (which sadly has closed down since) which offered introductory jewellery courses. After attending the first workshop I was totally hooked and the journey started there and then.

I took a few courses in a short space of time and travelled to London to the London Jewellery School to take more advanced classes and some business start up workshops too.

After a few months of my new found hobby and a dry spell at work, I decided to take a leap and jump head on into setting up Misskukie Jewellery.

It was tough and overwhelming as I had no industry knowledge or buddies that could help. Nevertheless, I loved every minute of it.

Naively my expectation was that after setting up the website, customers would find my page and business would flow. Obviously, that did not happen. Every entrepreneur can tell you that there is no such thing as “overnight success”

I then set up a shop on Etsy and the UK equivalent Folksy

A few months later I got invited to sell on Notonthehighstreet which propelled the business on to a new level.

The rest as they say, is history.
